If you happen to be in Paris on January 8 and 9, mark this annual event in your diary. The Rallye Paris Tour Eiffel (RPTE) is a group hike that draws an international crowd and covers the highlights of Paris.
Run for the 25th year by Association le Godillot Familial, you can take in the major sights at your own pace and see the Parisian monuments illuminated under Christmas lights.
Three circuits make up the Eiffel Tower Walk. Choose from the 13 kilometre jaunt that runs along the river Seine, the 14 km walk that begins at Porte d’Ivry and finishes at Hotel de Ville or the 20 km round trip from Porte d’Ivry.
The Rallye Paris Tour Eiffel runs from 3 pm on 8 January 2011 until 1 a.m. on 9 January 2011 and is set to go ahead regardless of weather conditions. Entry fee is 1,80 € per person. The walk departs from Halle G. Carpentier. 81 Bd Masséna PARIS 13eme, which is reached by Métro station Pte d’Ivry, line 7.
So rug up in your heavy coats, scarves and hats, bring along your camera and savour the magical sights of Paris in winter.
