Jamie’s Italian to Open in Sydney

Jamies ItalianTelevision’s ebullient chef Jamie Oliver is soon to be hitting Sydney’s shores. The popular Food Revolution advocate will be bringing his brand of Jamie’s Italian to Pitt Street in the city’s central business district.

With a capacity for over 200 guests, the restaurant will occupy two floors and the design will be the Jamie’s Italian signature blend of contemporary, rustic and a modern twist.

According to the restaurant’s website, no bookings are necessary for tables less than 6 which is set to see Sydneysiders queuing up to get in. But if the experience is anything like that of Canary Wharf in London, the well-stocked bar is set to make the waiting time pass quickly.

Currently in recruitment mode, Jamie’s Italian is set to open its Sydney doors in August 2011.

I will love to visit this restaurant one day. I have this cookbook of his and have been craving so many things out of it. My favorite thus far is the deep fried polenta with rosemary. YUM! :-)

I’m sure they’ll be running as tight a ship as they do in London. Our experience at Canary Wharf exceeded expectations!

Can’t wait for this. I ate there last year in Covent Garden. It only cost 8 pounds for a black truffle pasta, fantastic value. The interior is beautiful as well, the wild boar salami is a must.

It should be a great place to go in the CBD – we’re very excited!
