Bar 132 – The Millswyn

You won’t find Bar 132 at a physical address. The cocktail bar that has sprung in a hidden location is intentionally mysterious and “born out of a love of the hidden” according to owner Davis Yu.

Deriving its name from the ‘in between’ space inside The Millswyn restaurant in Melbourne’s South Yarra, the bar  accommodates only eighteen people at any one time. Naturally intimate with putty-coloured banquette and Moroccan printed cushions, the space is designed for the team of mixologists to offer a personalised experience where the interaction is paramount to the enjoyment of the tipple.

The bar team’s cocktail experimentation is “grounded in Old World flavours”. Here you can find creations such as the Elderflower Bellini, a French twist on an Italian classic, a summery Watermelon and Aperol Sour, and Explosive Harmony of Zing & Zang (shown in the photo), a drink based on the Diamond Gin Fizz with a serve of popping candy on the side.

Whether old time classics are your favourites or if you prefer your cocktail off the menu, you can always pick a spirit base and ask for a cocktail to be constructed to your taste.

I love hidden bars!! Nothing like a little mystery before you even step through the doors and have yummy cocktails!

I’d start with it as well and work my way through the rest!
